During the treatment light passes through the skin and is obsorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft or bulb. The absorption raises the temperature of the hair follicle and thermally damages the cells responsible for hair regrowth. Hair grows in several phases (anagen, catagen, telogen) and a treatment can only be affective in early anagen stages therefore several hair reduction services are needed. These treatments aren't recommended for use on dark skin types due to high risk of burns. Consultations are required before booking a service.
